About CA Foundation
CA Foundation is the new entrance level for the Chartered Accountancy course in India. Earlier it was known as Common Proficiency Test CPT.
Eligibility Criteria or Qualification Required for CA Foundation Course: The candidate can register for the CA Foundation after appearing in 12th board examinations and take the exam after qualifying the 12th examinations.
CA Foundation is exempt for the Graduates, Post Graduates and the students having Equivalent degree. Commerce graduated with 55% and other graduated with 60% marks can take direct admission for the CA Intermediate.

Registration Fee for CA Foundation
Registration Fee for CA Foundation Course Rs.9200 and CA Foundation course registration will be valid for three years i.e. up to six attempts. Even after three years, you can revalidate your registration for a further three years by depositing Rs 300/- as revalidation fees.

Syllabus of CA foundation course
Syllabus for CA Foundation Course have been divided into four Papers
CA Foundation is partially subjective and partially objective test consisting of 400 marks. four Papers contains the eight subjects in CA Foundation given as follows –
- Paper-1: Principles and Practices of Accounting. (100 – Marks)
- Paper-2: Business Laws and Business Correspondence and Reporting. (100 – Marks)
- Paper-3: Business Mathematics and Logical Reasoning & Statistics. (100 – Marks)
- Paper-4: Business Economics & Business and Commercial Knowledge. (100 – Marks)
CA Foundation Examination Passing Criteria: A Student of CA foundation examination shall be declared to have passed in the examination, if he secures minimum 40% marks in each paper and an aggregate of 50% of (200/400) total marks.
The above two papers (Paper 1 & 2) are subjective while the later two are Paper (Paper 3 & 4) objective. Objective papers contain negative marking for each wrong answer 0.25 mark gets deducted and for each correct answer one mark is given.
